Why My Grass Farm Codes Fail
A Settings-first checklist when MERCHANT, RELEASE, or BLACKHOLE does nothing.
Most “dead code” panic in My Grass Farm is a UI problem, not a conspiracy. The CODES box sits behind a tutorial lock, it is case-sensitive, and public blogs still disagree about which strings are live. This page is the failure map. Live gifts stay on the codes hub. The click-by-click path is how to redeem. Strings Settings already killed belong on expired codes.
My Grass Farm launched on Roblox on 23 July 2026. Codes arrived around launch and again with merchant-themed content. By late August the public tables split, then some roundups merged them again. None of that changes the box in the upper-right gear. If the box rejects a paste, believe the box.
Failures that are not expiry
Finish the tutorial first. Until the intro lets you swing on your own plot, the CODES field hides or swallows input. Spamming the gear at spawn makes RELEASE look dead when it is only locked. Rejoin if the panel opens but Enter does nothing—a half-loaded farm can show Settings without wiring the redeem callback.
Match capitalization. RELEASE is not Release. MERCHANT is not Merchant. Autocorrect on phones is the main killer; paste from notes instead of typing. Strip spaces before and after the word. Do not paste a YouTube title, a Discord sentence, or three codes in one field. The box wants one token.
You already redeemed it. Codes are typically once per account. A second paste of MERCHANT on the same Roblox user will fail even though the Grass Type is sitting on the plot. That is success, not a bug. Check workers and turf before you assume the string vanished from the universe.
Wrong game. Shorts mix My Grass Farm with other lawn tycoons. If a creator is redeeming in a different HUD, the string was never ours. Stay on My Grass Farm on Roblox and ignore lookalike titles.
Failures that might be expiry
RELEASE still prints as 600 Cash and 4 Pirate Farmers on TechWiser, GameRant, Destructoid, and Roonby. Beebom moved it to expired on 24 August 2026. Nerdschalk’s late-August table listed RELEASE again next to MERCHANT and BLACKHOLE. Paste once. If Settings accepts it, run the four on Pirate Farmers. If it rejects, it is expired for your account even if a green table still exists on another site.
BLACKHOLE is Cash on Beebom, bo3, gamer.org, and Nerdschalk. Older GameRant and TechWiser pages omit it. One recap called it “stat boosts”; that wording is not corroborated by the Cash-majority lists, so do not rebuild a loadout around a hidden luck buff. Try it once. Spend whatever lands on Cut Speed, not Rolls. File a reject on expired codes.
MERCHANT was still consensus-live across those roundups as a new Grass Type. If MERCHANT starts failing for new accounts, it will move to the expired page the same day we can verify it. Until then, treat a MERCHANT fail as spelling, tutorial lock, or already redeemed.
Retry protocol that does not waste an hour
- Confirm you can cut grass on your plot. If not, you are still in the tutorial—see controls.
- Open the gear, paste one string, press Enter, wait two seconds.
- If nothing happens, rejoin the experience once and repeat.
- Try the other two strings. One failure does not poison the box.
- Stop. Open Discord only after that sequence. There is no public Trello.
Do not restart Roblox ten times. Do not install an executor “to force codes.” Scripts cannot revive an official gift and they can cost the account—script safety.
After a successful mix of pass and fail
Keep whatever arrived. Pirate Farmers you already own still cut. MERCHANT turf you already unlocked still pays. BLACKHOLE Cash still spends. Then follow Getting Started and the upgrade planner so the session is not a second codes hunt. Beginner mistakes is the page for people who saved strings “for later” and then watched them die.
Mobile players: landscape if the Codes tab is clipped, paste not type, tap the on-screen confirm if Enter never fires. Desktop players: copy one token at a time from this wiki. Never dump a paragraph.
What this page will not do
It will not invent a fourth secret code. It will not promise BLACKHOLE amounts. It will not tell you Beebom is always right or Nerdschalk is always right. The 24–28 August 2026 disagreement is logged on patch notes and on the BLACKHOLE update page so this troubleshooting list stays a checklist, not a rumor mill.
When Settings is quiet, the farm is not. Cut Speed, a worker, and a silo that keeps up still print Cash. That loop is make money fast. Codes are a head start. They are not the game.
If you only remember four causes, remember these: tutorial still running, wrong caps, already redeemed, actually expired. Everything else is noise. Paste, wait, move on, cut grass.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common farm questions.
Why does Settings ignore my My Grass Farm code?
Finish the tutorial, paste exact caps, strip spaces, retry once after a rejoin. If it still fails, check expired codes and the codes hub.
I redeemed RELEASE yesterday and it fails today. Is it expired?
Probably already used on that account. Codes are typically once. Keep the Pirate Farmers and play; do not hunt a twin string.
Should I trust Beebom or Nerdschalk when they disagree?
Trust Settings. Beebom expired RELEASE; Nerdschalk later listed all three. Try each string once, then farm.
Can a script redeem codes for me?
Do not. Official redeem is the gear box. Scripts are account risk—see script safety.
