Special Workers

Special workers are the My Grass Farm hires you remember from a thumbnail. DarkLord, Robot, Scientist, Tentoes, Laugher, Stephen, Force, Chef, Businessman—the names feel like classes in another genre. In this tycoon they are still people who cut grass. Buy them with leftover Cash, not with the Cash that should have been Cut Speed.

Read starter workers first. Read the worker tier list so you know we park most of these names in B and C for early game. This page exists so you can still enjoy them without wrecking the loop in make money fast.

Scientist, Robot, Businessman, Chef

These four sound like systems: science, automation, money, food. The game has not published a white paper that Scientist raises Mutation Luck or that Businessman raises Cash. Until a patch note says so, assume they cut grass with different outfits. If you notice a real effect, it will show up in Updates. Until then, they are coverage and collection.

Robot is the one players overtrust because scripts mention Auto Buy Workers next to it. A Robot that you cannot afford will not auto-win. Script safety is unrelated to whether the model is metal.

DarkLord, Force, Tentoes, Laugher, Stephen

This is the meme row. DarkLord looks like an endgame button. Tentoes looks like a joke that became a SKU. Laugher and Stephen are easy to hire as a dare. Force sounds like a stat. Hire them when the offline checklist is already green for several nights.

If a creator says one of these is secretly S tier, ask whether they redeemed RELEASE. Four Pirates plus a DarkLord is a rich farm. A DarkLord instead of Pirates is a costume party.

Explorer as a bridge

Explorer sits on the border. We mentioned Explorer with starters because the name fits walking a bigger plot. If you already own Farmer and Pirates, Explorer is a reasonable first “special” because it is still about covering ground before expanding. It is a worse first hire than Farmer.

How specialists interact with grass types

A specialist on Gold-style MERCHANT turf is more exciting than the same specialist on neglected green. That does not make the specialist the unlock. The unlock is the type. See grass type tiers and rare grass. Put specialists on the best tiles you already own.

Buying rule

If buying a specialist delays Silo Rate, do not buy it. If buying it delays land you already needed, do not buy it. If buying it is the treat after a good session, buy it and go cut. The workers hub will still list everyone tomorrow.

Collection versus completionism

Completing the fourteen-name board is a hobby. It is not required to enjoy My Grass Farm. One More Grass shipped a tycoon about hay. The special names keep the shop feeling alive after the tutorial. Enjoy them in that order.

When a new named worker appears after a patch, we will file it here or on the starter page. Watch patch notes and Discord. There is no Trello.

Specialists are dessert. Eat the loop first.

A specialist after three good nights

Give yourself a rule: three offline checklists in a row that look healthy, then one specialist. Chef or Robot as a treat is different from Chef instead of Silo Rate. Take a screenshot of the roster so you remember you already own Pirates. Completionists can ignore the rule; broke plots should not. When the treat is bought, put them on the best tiles you have and go back to make money fast.

Naming is not a stat sheet

Until patch notes say Scientist changes luck, treat the name as flavor. Play two laps with and without the hire if you must know. Most players will still be rich if Cut Speed is high.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common farm questions.

Is DarkLord the best worker?

Not for a new plot. Rank him as a late collection hire on the worker tier list.

Do specialists have hidden stats?

Nothing official is published. Treat them as extra cutters until Updates says otherwise.

When can I buy Robot or Scientist?

After Pirate Farmers and Farmer are working and Silo Rate is healthy. See hire workers.

Should I auto-buy every specialist?

No. You will drain Cash. If you automate at all, read auto farm and leave C-tier names off.
